Naval Air StationThe Naval Air Museum Barbers Point

The Naval Air Museum Barbers Point is dedicated to preserving the memory of the former Naval Air Station Barbers Point, to celebrating and sharing Hawaii’s rich history of Navy and Marine Corps aviation, and to engaging with our community to excite people of all ages about aviation, history, and STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

Our docent-guided flightline tours allow visitors to sit in the cockpits and experience history at their fingertips, to walk in the footsteps of heroes across the tarmac, and to see the very view aviators saw as they prepared to fly their missions.

Eagle’s Nest Tour

The so-called“Eagle’s Nest” was built as a teahouse for Adolf Hitler’s 50th birthday. Perched on a mountain summit, its unusual position makes of the daring project a unique engineering feat. What few realize is that Hitler’s home and headquarters – the second seat of 3rd Reich power – were located at Obersalzberg, at the foot of the Eagle’s Nest mountain.

SHARKHUNTERS information is honest submarine history with major emphasis on German U-Boats and no propaganda. Our monthly KTB Magazine is named after the log book carried by each U-Boat during WW II, the Kriegs Tage Buch, and is kept as a reference in many archives. The history of at least one U-Boat is in each issue of the KTB, with the date that the U-Boat was launched, what type she was, her Skipper’s patrol areas, victims – and final fate of each U-Boat with latitude and longitude position.
